enlargement andreduced corticalvolume arecorrelatesofchronic schizophrenia.We investigatedwhether genetic risk for psychosis is related to differences in foetal brain development asmeasuredby prenatalultrasonography.Routine foetal cerebralmeasures at19^23 weeks of gestationwere comparedbetweenthe offspring of 35 womenwith a historyof psychosis and105 controlwomenmatched for gestational age.Overall, no significant differenceswere foundbetweenthe highrisk and controlgroups.Therewas a nonsignificanttrend inthe adjusted analysis towardsincreasedlateralventricular width inthe offspring ofmotherswith psychosis.
